Sizing Guidelines and Instructions

What size of clothing do I need to purchase for my parent or disabled friend who is living in a care home?

What are my dependent parents or partners clothing size?

Clothing that fits is the secret to looking good and feeling well. However, at times when you are unwell or if you are looking to provide clothing for your family member, a friend, or a person in your care, finding the right clothing is not always easy.

And after you carefully selected the garment and assume you know the size, the question remains whether the garment will fit and be suitable, especially if you don’t have the comfort of trying on the garment to determine not only the size but also the practicality for care.

This is where creating a personal measurement chart and measurement type are the best solutions.

If you follow the instructions below on what basic body measurements you require, you will be able to fill in the Sestra Care personal chart.

This chart will help you to establish the size of a garment you are looking to purchase online or in a store.

All online clothing stores including Sestra Care provide charts to guide their clients to determine the size of a garment they want to order.

Comparing the body measurements on your created chart to the body measurements and the assigned sizes provided by the store will help you to determine the size you require, avoid useless purchases, saving time and money.

Basic clothing measurement instructions

1

Measurement can be taken in the standing, lying, or sitting position.

2

Keep the measuring tape comfortably loose.

3

Measure around the fullest part of the body parts (bust, hips, waist, chest).

4

For a loose fit (when purchasing clothing in a regular store) consider adding 2-3 cm to the chart measurement which may require you to purchase a size up.

5

Remember that garments (natural blend fabrics) may slightly shrink after the first laundry.

6

Keep in mind: every clothing brand differs in sizing!
